No one should be excluded from enjoying nature and the outdoors, which is why we envision a community which can enjoy its rivers and all it includes at no cost to those who qualify. This belief guides our immediate, short-term and long-term plans, as well as our overall strategy at Flannel River.

accessibility and inclusivity
One of our priorities at Flannel River is to reach out and connect with underserved populations. We recognize that certain outdoor experiences have been and remain activities that are accessible to a select few.
Flannel River intends to change this through wheelchair accessible watercraft and use of outdoor gear. Our services begin with listening to people and catering to their needs and abilities.
We want everyone to be able to enjoy our rivers, regardless of their background or abilities. This includes, but is not limited to, people with disabilities, marginalized populations, or those facing various emotional hardships in their lives …… the healing power of our great outdoors is at the heart of our mission at Flannel River.

As a part of our commitment to increasing accessibility to our rivers and all they have to offer, we will be building a ‘library’ of gear that will help expand the opportunities we offer.
